SAP: shares up slightly after capital return announcement

(CercleFinance.com) - The SAP stock is up on Tuesday following news that the German enterprise software maker would step up its capital return for shareholders in 2020.


Citing the company's "strong financial performance", the supervisory board has approved plans to repurchase shares and/or issue a special dividend with a combined total of 1.5 billion euros by the end of 2020.

This enhanced capital return will be in addition to SAP's regular dividend policy of distributing at least 40% of its profit after tax, the group said.

The Walldorf-based company's stock, which trades on the DAX index, rose by 0.3% to around 121.2 euros in heavy trading of 31.7 million shares after this announcement.
