Henkel: maintains 2018 guidance after 'good' third quarter
(CercleFinance.com) - German consumer goods group Henkel has stuck to its 2018 guidance on Thursday after posting "good" Q3 results, despite a "challenging" market environment.
Henkel - whose biggest brands include Pritt stick glue and Persil detergents - said that adjusted operating profit (EBIT) rose by 3.3% to 926 million euros in the past quarter.
At 5.04 billion euros, third-quarter sales grew by 1.1% year-on-year. Organic sales - which exclude the impact of currency effects and acquisitions/divestments - rose by 2.7%.
This "good" organic sales growth was mainly driven by the adhesive technologies business unit, Henkel said.
The Düsseldorf-based group confirmed its guidance for fiscal 2018, expecting organic sales growth of 2%-to-4%.
For adjusted EBIT, Henkel still expects around an 18% y-o-y growth. Its EBIT margin improved by 40 points to 18.4% in the third quarter.
Henkel shares are up 2.8% in Frankfurt today after these results were announced.
