BMW: electrified vehicles sales reach threshold

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group has now delivered 500,000 electrified vehicles, the German premium carmaker said on Thursday on an update of its e-mobility strategy.


The Munich-based company - which currently has 12 electrified vehicles - aims to have one million electrified vehicles on the roads within two years, i.e. by 2021.

BMW said it will continue to launch additional models in 2020, in what the group defines as a "comprehensive e-vehicle product offensive."

Next year, the BMW X3 will become the first BMW Group vehicle available with four different drive train variants: diesel, petrol, plug-in hybrid and pure electric.

At this stage, China is the biggest market for the pure electric BMW X3, BMW said.
