Nestlé: helps waste collection with Project STOP in Asia
(CercleFinance.com) - Nestlé and Project STOP today received support from the Pasuruan regional government in Java, Indonesia, to establish a waste recovery facility.
The group will install a complete waste management system for communities in the region.
Currently, only 9% of Pasuruan residents have access to waste management services, of which only 1% of waste is managed responsibly, Nestlé noted.
The material recovery facility will be used for the first time to manage the waste collection, sorting and recycling processes in the municipalities of Lekok and Nguling in Pasuruan.
Nestlé is the first agrifood company to join Project STOP, which is fighting plastic pollution in Southeast Asia.
