Nestlé: rolls out plant-based sausages in Europe and US
(CercleFinance.com) - Betting on rising demand for meatless products, Swiss agri-food giant Nestlé is launching plant-based sausages in Europe and the US.
The soy-based sausages will be launched in 11 European markets as from March, including Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Meanwhile, Nestlé will market the pea protein-based sausages In the US as from April. A version for food service will also be available, it said. Nestlé said it also plans to launch a range of plant-based deli meats in the US. The consumer goods group said it seeks to capitalise on the "huge success" of its plant-based burgers.
