ABB: contract for Samskip hydrogen container ships
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB is to supply a complete power distribution system for two new maritime container ships from the global logistics company Samskip Group.
The ships will be one of the first of their kind in the world to use hydrogen as fuel. The order was booked in Q2 2023. Built by Cochin Shipyard, the largest shipbuilding and maintenance center in India, the 135 meter vessels are expected to be delivered in Q3 and Q4 of 2025 respectively.
