ABB: 2022 EPS down 43%

(CercleFinance.com) - The Swiss-Swedish engineering group ABB has announced 2022 basic EPS that is down 43% to 1.
30 dollar, with an operating EBITA of 4.51 billion dollars. This represents a 1.1-point increase in its margin to 15 .3% for sales that rose 2% to over 29.4 billion dollars (+12% on a comparable basis).

"2022 was another successful year for ABB, including a further streamlining of our business portfolio and achieving our margin target earlier than expected", said CEO Björn Rosengren, for whom the group has become "more resilient".

"In 2023, regardless of current market uncertainty, we want to show that we can continuously deliver an Operational EBITA margin of at least 15%", he added.

"Considering improving performance, robust cash flow and a solid balance sheet," ABB's board is proposing an ordinary dividend of 0.84 Swiss franc per share, up from 0.82 Swiss franc a year ago, "in line with the long-term ambition".
