Roche: FTC requests information for Spark Therapeutics deal

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche and Spark Therapeutics today said that they have received a request for additional information and documents from the Federal Trade Commission of the United States (FTC) regarding its review of Roche's ongoing acquisition of Spark.


They also announced an extension of the takeover bid on Spark Therapeutics' shares.

It also announces the extension of the public supply offer for the actions of Spark Therapeutics.

The publication of the second request is part of the regulatory review process. This extends the waiting period until 10 days after Roche has substantially complied with the Second Request, unless the waiting period is terminated earlier by the FTC or the parties have entered into a timing agreement with the FTC.

The parties want to conclude the deal and are immediately collaborating with the FTC to satisfy its examination of the case.

In addition, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened an investigation to obtain further information on Roche's proposed acquisition of Spark.
