Bombardier: consortium wins Paris metro contract

(CercleFinance.com) - A consortium of Canada's Bombardier and France's Alstom said on Monday that it has won a contract to supply new generation metro trains for Paris, in a 530 million euros deal.

Alstom and Bombardier will design and manufacture 44 trains for Ile-de-France region and the Paris Transport Administration (RATP).

This may be supplemented by options exercise for a total of up to 410 trains, they said.

Bombardier's share of the contract will be approximately 265 million euros, they said.

Initially, the new trains will be deployed on three Paris metro lines (3bis, 7bis and 10), with options to equip five other lines (13, 12, 3, 8 and 7).
