bpost: CEO fired

(CercleFinance.com) - bpost says that its board of directors has decided to terminate, with immediate effect, Jean-Paul Van Avermaet's term of office as CEO and to suspend him until the AGM of 12 May as a director in the interest of the company.


Without giving the reasons for his dismissal, the Belgian postal operator states that the powers of day-to-day management are delegated to the chairman of the board of directors, and that the search for a new CEO has been launched.

The board also asks the executive committee to continue to implement bpost's strategy and to focus on achieving results for its mail & retail, parcels & logistics Europe-Asia and North America business units.
