Solvay: 9m underlying net profit reaches E522m

(CercleFinance.com) - Belgian chemical group Solvay's 9m sales came in at 6,751 million euros, down 11.
9% organically y-o-y.

Q3 sales amounted to 2,103 million euros, down 14.3% organically y-o-y, with demand improving in September.

Underlying EBITDA over the first nine months came in at 1,481 million euros, down 16% year-on-year on an organic basis. Q3 EBITDA reached 473 million euros, up 7.7% y-o-y.

The decline relative to Q3 2019 was limited to -17% on an organic basis. Meanwhile, its EBITDA margin improved to 22.5%.

Underlying net profit came in at 522 million euros for the first nine months, including 176 million euros in Q3. Free cash flow amounted to 801 million euros over the first nine months, more than double its level a year ago.
